Only Word template files can be used in PDF output. Excel files cannot be used as templates for PDF output. The application reads the contents of the Word file, converts them to HTML, and generates the PDF using Visualforce. The application does not support Excel because its structure is more complex than Word, making it more difficult and time-consuming to implement.
